Ingredients : - 2 tbsp olive oil - 1 red onion, cut in half then thinly sliced - 1 tbsp. of FAA CARAMELS with fleur de sel - 6 thick slices (1.5 cm) of luxury country bread - 170 g Brie cheese, cut into thin slices - 2 Lobo apples, thinly sliced - ¼ cup butter
Instructions : 1. Heat a very large skillet over medium-low heat, add olive oil, onion and caramel. Season with salt and pepper and stir. Cook onions for 10 to 12 minutes until caramelized. Onions should not brown, reduce heat if they do. 2. On three slices of bread, spread a thin layer of CARAMELS FAA with fleur de sel then place half of the cheese slices. Spread the apple slices, caramelized onions and add the rest of the cheese. Finish with the remaining slices of bread and press to compact. 3. Wipe out the pan, add 2 tbsp butter and melt over low heat. Spread the butter in the pan and carefully place the sandwiches. Cook for about 4-5 minutes until the bread is golden brown. The goal is to melt the cheese without toasting the bread too quickly. Lower the heat if necessary. 4. Carefully turn with a spatula, continue cooking for 4 or 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown. 5. Cut in half, serve lovingly and garnish with a fresh salad if you feel like it!
