Although this is what many may imagine… This caramel recipe is not exactly what we call “ Grandma’s caramel ”. It is rather the result of many hours of pleasure shared between 2 best friends. Confidants and soul mates since the age of 12, imagine what they were able to create together! This recipe made with love, initially potted in “Bernardin” jars, was an excuse to bring Sonia and Marie-Pier together during the holiday season when they had two completely different lifestyles. Love, laughter and confidences shared in order to make up for lost time and take advantage of their cooking talents, their creative side, but above all, especially in order to please family members and their friends during the holiday celebrations. Will you dare to discover this “Original” flavor where it all began? The two entrepreneurs behind Caramels FAA always joked that their Original caramel recipe, full of love, would inevitably one day become Grandma's caramel ! Hihihi!
How to use Original Caramel?
Start the day off right by sweetening your morning coffee just right. Why not a second one? It's the perfect pick-me-up to finish the afternoon with energy.
Serve our original caramel on waffles, as an accompaniment to homemade pancakes or to enhance your romantic breakfasts.
Spread on your fresh bagels and croissants in the morning.
Top a white birthday cake or your best decadent brownie recipe.
Add a coulis on a scoop of vanilla ice cream and if you have a sweet tooth like us, be sure to add some to the bottom of the cone too. You will definitely surprise young and old alike.
Pour as a coulis over a fruit tart or cheesecake.
